Reflecting on an Incredible Year: My Journey into Building a Vision

It’s been quite a year, to say the least. About 18 months ago, I yearned for a new challenge after spending numerous years in product management, development, and sales. I had seen it all, from startups to established companies, and I was ready to embark on my own journey, starting from scratch.

In the world of entrepreneurship, there are countless opportunities to join ventures, but what truly matters is the human connection. The idea is essential, but the team is everything. I was fortunate to have known some brilliant entrepreneurs for years, collaborating with them in consulting and implementation. We shared trust and mutual respect, making the decision to join forces easy.

The idea that ignited our passion was nothing short of remarkable. It combined years of experience and psychological insight to understand human beings better and, most importantly, to use technology to enhance humanity. We established clear goals that would guide our journey:

  1. Using responsible AI to prevent discrimination or bias in understanding human behavior.
  2. Ensuring technology is used only for suitable applications.
  3. Developing a backbone that would serve a wide range of applications and industries.

But what exactly were we setting out to do? Our vision was clear:

We created a system to analyze human behavior and aid decision-making. This analysis would occur through open conversations between individuals or by answering questionnaires via video recording, primarily focusing on assessing stress.

Stress is a powerful force that can disrupt a person’s equilibrium due to physical or mental factors. Our slogan, “Illuminate the Hidden,” perfectly encapsulated our vision.

Our approach involved analyzing human behavior within their context while considering the individual’s mental state at the moment of analysis, their cultural background, and personal influences on their reactions and behaviors. This type of analysis had far-reaching implications across industries, including defense, human resources, healthcare, and finance. In a world increasingly reliant on digitization and suspicion, understanding human behavior and its impact on decisions was more crucial than ever.

We firmly believe that humans are not machines, and attempting to assess information about them without considering their mental state in specific contexts would lead to discrimination and bias in decision-making.

Building a system like this required more than just technology; it demanded expertise in psychology and neuropsychology before we could write a single line of code. Our psychological team brought crucial knowledge in body language, nonverbal communication, behavioral psychology, and neuropsychology. Our mathematicians created algorithms that combined various artificial intelligence modules with psychological insights we began to collect. Developing these algorithms was pivotal, as achieving the accuracy levels we aimed for required precise formulas for each scenario we tested.

The journey was marked by various tests and experiments designed to facilitate advanced machine learning and neural network training. These experiments covered diverse factors:

  1. Pigmentation analysis: Identifying micro changes in skin tone to detect discoloration as a response to various stimuli.
  2. Sound analysis: Identifying changes in sound range, volume, speech rate, and response times to stimuli.
  3. Eyelid and blink analysis: Measuring the rate and speed of response to stimuli.
  4. Body language analysis: Identifying changes in facial and body movements and comparing them to other simultaneous movements.
  5. Thermal analysis: Detecting temperature changes in different body parts to understand rhythm and blood flow in response to stimuli.
  6. Emotional analysis: Recognizing facial expressions indicative of specific emotions.
  7. Medical indicators: Identifying changes in heart rate, blood pressure, and more using standard equipment.

Our goals were clear:

  1. Identification phase: Extracting data from images and sounds to detect changes and patterns in each factor.
  2. Cataloging stage: Associating changes with meanings such as cognition, emotion, stress, and behavioral indicators.
  3. Correlation phase: Identifying values from different factors simultaneously.
  4. Pattern phase: Identifying recurring and continual patterns for insights about the person’s condition.
  5. Algorithmic stage: Creating computational formulas for each factor and neural networks to process the data.
  6. Analysis and forecasting phase: Weighing the data to generate comprehensive reports that consider all the data and provide in-depth insights.

Implementation was carried out in the cloud, ensuring security and privacy and expanding into different regions based on business opportunities. By September, the infrastructure was ready, and we continued incorporating more human factors to enhance behavior analysis.

Then came October 7th — a day that shocked, saddened, and surprised us, much like the rest of Israel. But we quickly rallied and realized our vision was more significant than ever imagined. Inquiries poured in from various entities, including security agencies requiring thorough interrogations, demands to combat psychological terrorism, verification of deepfake videos, and assistance in identifying mental disorders and traumas in the population. We understood that our mission had become integral to our nation’s efforts.

Looking ahead, we are excited about the future. We are exploring partnerships in HR Tech to address recruitment, employee health, and onboarding needs. We are also establishing an infrastructure in Japan, where opportunities in HR and finance are rising. Additionally, we are building a network of cyber partners specializing in deception and deepfake attacks.

These are fascinating times, and we are committed to illuminating the hidden and making the world a better place through technology and understanding human behavior.
